This week at Toddler Time we made a fun handprint dinosaur craft that was really cute *ahem I mean ferocious! For this craft you will need …
2 Pieces of construction paper
A pair of scissors
A googly eye
A glue stick
A paper plate or shallow pie tin
A paint brush
A black marker or crayon
This is a pretty simple craft to make. You will want to start by drawing and cutting out your dinosaurs body on a piece of construction paper, then gluing it down to your other piece of ocnstruction paper. You want to put the body lower down on the page so you have room for your hand print spikes! Paint your little ones hand in the colour of your choice and press it against the back of your dinosaur, going along the spine as far as you wish, you can even alternate colours.
As your handprint scales dry you can glue on a googly eye so your dinosaur can see and you can even add a mouth with your marker or crayon. Ours turned out quite nicely!
Next up we have the dinoasur feet! They are a great way to get your little one active and have lots of fun! You will need…
carboard, thicker will be more durable
paper plates or shallow pie tins
First you will cut out your dinosaur feet. You simply decided how you want them to look and base how big they should be off of the size of your childs feet. Once you have cut them out you can paint them whatever colour you want, feel free to get creative! Once they have dried using your scissors cut two holes into your cardboard where the ribbon will thread through, near the heel. Next cut the ribbon, leaving enough to wrap around your childs foot. thread the ribbon through the bottom of the cardboard foot like so.
Then you want to cut of a strip of the velcro, I put the more prickly side facing up so it wouldn't irritate their feet. Awesome, now your dinosaur feet are ready for stomping! We had a whole variety of colours!
