I hate going to the gym, I get bored. I love to do classes though as I find they offer the variety and the fun that I need to keep focused.
I recently met Lori Graystone owner of RockNPole here in Barrie and she offered me an alternative to any class I have ever taken before, Pole Fitness. While this seemed scary and so intimidating for my uncoordinated and normally cautious self, I finally (after much persuasion) gave it a try….. and I loved it!
Lori is full of energy and her enthusiasm is contagious making it easy to let loose and have fun. The
ultimate goal at RockNPole is to break down the barriers and remove the stigma that surrounds pole dancing. Lori's wish is to empower women as they discover the value of their own sexuality, while reaching their fitness and flexibility goals.
The RockNPole studio is welcoming and bright full of Lori's rock n roll personality. Coming into the studio and seeing the floor to ceiling poles and wall of mirrors made me so nervous.
Lori and one of her other students quickly had me at ease and trying all the moves that they put forward.
Pole fitness is an incredible full body work out. From working your upper body and core to your legs and even your mind, it definitely gives you the workout you need to feel fit and confident. Lori encouraged me to try each of the moves she teaches in her intro class, and I did, and I rocked it! It was hard, don't get me wrong, some moves more difficult than others, but I tried and I succeeded! (how pretty it looked is another story!)
I left the studio feeling good about myself and quite sore. It was definietly a good workout as my arms shoulders and legs can attest too! I also earned some great bruises, but they are the rewards of trying something new and putting in full effort. My bruises are my trophy.
After bragging to my friends about my latest adventure in getting fit, they are all lining up to give it a try.
RockNPole offers a variety of classes and workshops that reflect ALL of the aspects of pole, shaping you into a complete "RockNPoler"
You can book a private in studio or home party with RocknPole! How fun would that be!
