Some board books seem to become instant classics and We're Going On a Bear Hunt is one of those. ( I have read it about 15 times in the last week. ) We read the book and ventured out on our very own bear hunt! First we came across some long, wavy grass which they searched through, but no bear. (Shredded construction paper)
Next they found a deep cold river. They splashed around to no avail! (water)
I don't think they were to upset however as in our search for our furry friend we came across some tasty thick, oozy mud. (whipped mousse)
After a quick snack we resumed our search exploring a deep, dark forest. (Brown play dough with sticks, rocks, leaves and pinecones scattered throughout.)
Next our budding adventurers braved a swhirling, whirling snowstorm in their hunt. (shredded coconut.)
Finally they came upon a narrow, gloomy cave. Buried in some rocks they came across… a bear!! ( A bear made from construction paper, googly eyes and a pom pom under some rocks) With their adventure behind them the toddlers they engaged in some imaginative play in a bear mini world before heading out exhausted.
